Exposition
It is Christmas time after WWII. A veteran who was a codebreaker during the war is now a weary mail man. He is busy from the holiday season in his town. He had lost his family except his daughter a few year ago. It makes him happy to be able to deliver packages to families.
Inciting Incident
One day while he is driving home from work, something he assumes as a combustible package explodes in his truck. His packages that he sends starts disappearing.
Conflict
People are getting angry. He claims something is taking things, but people accuse him of the lost packages. He starts his hunt to find out what is causing his packages to disappear.
Crisis
While he is busy trying to find the cause of the stolen packages, he fails to complete his jobs. On the days he is able to finish, almost all the packages are stolen. He loses his job, one of the only things that makes him happy. Things in the town start to get worse, and people are reporting thefts and soon, others are getting hurt including his daughter.
Resolution
He finds the creature in a dark shed of cardboard boxes and initially tries to kill it. He walks through the alien construction of materials and discovers a beautiful tinkering of objects and toys that have been delivered in the past month. The people find out he is telling the truth and want to kill the creature. The mail man understands the monster and tries to protect it. He fulfills his job as a messenger and communicator, finally creating a link between the creature and the humans.
